Horoscopes: January 17th thru the 24th

Uranus

For the week of January 17th thru the 24th, be sure to read your Rising Sign as well:

Aries

The time of the month between the last quarter moon and the New Moon, is usually a time that we trend towards withdrawal and introspection. This will not be so for Aries this month. There is just way too much energy here, and there’s no telling what’s going to happen from day to day with a couple of Uranian squares thrown in for measure. Therefore, take that energy and channel it well: finish up projects you’ve been meaning to get to (if you can); catch up with friends and associates; and do all the physical things you’ve been wanting to do but couldn’t get to. Use the energy while you still have gads of it, and still have the momentum. But also be flexible with your time. Unexpected events could pop up from nowhere, and friends could just show up at your door unexpectedly. Welcome it all! Every bit. The interruptions, the unexpected diversions, the well wishers. You’ll catch up with the other stuff later.

Taurus

This week looks like a disparate mixture of misadventure and blissful contentment. Sometimes it is necessary to allow yourself to fly by the seat of your pants, and just see what the day will bring. This will be difficult if you are the sort of Taurus that expects your schedule to go as planned. But even unplanned misadventures can still wind up fortuitously with this sort of line up coming up. The key here is to be flexible, for there is no telling what each day will bring: a sudden change in plans; a distracting change in direction. Why not go with it? Try something new and different, or do something a different way. When you switch things up this way it can open you up to all sorts of creative and alternative possibilities. Then, if and when you get a chance to, focus on and celebrate all the good people and things that you have in your life right now: laugh, love, indulge and sing with your heart. Do the things and be with the people that bring you joy. For no matter what else is going on, that is where you ultimately need to be.

Gemini

Your ruling planet Mercury just entered Aquarius bringing you along for the ride. At this time of year dare to look at things from another perspective, or try to do things a new and different way. The inventive and creative advantage that this Mercury brings is fleeting and only lasts until the 4th of February. This Mercury just cultivates and encourages innovative ideas and creative insights. But you will want to also pace yourself this weekend with the Mercury/Uranus square speeding things up. Be prepared for possible changes in plans, or having to juggle a few things at once. Also allow yourself to change your mind about something. Could feel the urge to rush, but it would be wise to slow up the pace if you can, in order to avoid mistakes, or missed opportunities. Mercury/Uranus can get us out of ruts. But it can also make things a little unpredictable. But if anyone has the flexibility and dexterity to deal with this transit, and use it well, it’s Gemini.

Cancer

As we head into the week with the third quarter moon, this is usually a time to reflect and wind down. But I’m not so sure you’ll get the chance to this month with all of these looming Uranian squares stirring up the energy. Be prepared to switch up, change your mind, and go in a different direction if needed. Uranus can be unpredictable and inexplicable. In order to make the most of the week, the key is to be able to be as flexible as possible, and to be willing to go with the flow. Which includes allowing yourself to change your mind, or even your routine. The necessity for change could come from pressures outside of yourself; but it could also come from yourself. Especially if you’ve been feeling a little stuck lately. Or if you’ve been wanting to do things a little more consciously and conscientiously. That sort of inner awareness can prove to be enlightening in so many positive ways.

Leo

As your ruling luminary the Sun moves into Aquarius on Monday it is bringing you along for a bit of a daring ride. Every once in a while it helps to change things up just enough in order to invest your life with a surge of creative enthusiasm and energy. One hazard to watch for is this generalized unpredictability. There’s no telling how people may or may not react to what you say or do, and circumstances could change on a dime. If you have something really important to discuss or negotiate, it might be best to wait until after the 24th when things are less likely to be so uncertain, and people so unreliable. It’s something of a roller coaster week. But it could also prove to be illuminating and inspiring if you are willing to go with it. So strap on that seat belt, and get ready for the ride.

Virgo

Your ruling planet, Mercury, entered Aquarius on Thursday, carrying you along. Aquarius is a creative and innovative sign; and dares to inspire you to look for new and better ways to approach your everyday life. This can and should include looking for alternative ways to change up your routine, or try something new and different. We tend to be creatures of habit, and when we shake things up even a little bit it invests us with creative and alternative ways of looking at the world. You will also need a little more flexibility to deal with any unanticipated changes in plans, especially over the weekend. Things could be moving quickly, so pace yourself, be cautious and flexible. The more you try to resist these inevitable interruptions, the more frustrating they are likely to be. So flexibility is key here.

Libra

This could be a week of crazy distractions and unexpected interruptions, but it could also very well be a week of innovative insight and sudden realizations. Or both. It may be hard to stay on track, but often when we dare to step outside of our usual routines or do things a little differently, we start to see things in a whole new light. And that can open up all sorts of insights into our own and other’s behaviors that can prove to be enlightening. Despite any looming distractions, this is also a week to connect with your heart’s behests: what are the things that bring you happiness and joy? What brings you your own sort of peace? Peace, gratitude, and an open heart can ease over even the most frustrating distractions that may come your way this week. Libra remains the calm center in the eye of the storm.

Scorpio

Mars invests you with a surge of energy and enthusiasm that will carry you through most of the week. But you might want to take advantage of it while you can, as the end of this month could be tainted with something of an energy drain. Could also find the urge to speak your mind, and this could be a good week for a bit of a spirited debate, provided it is all in good humor. Things are moving very quickly, and there’s  no telling what each day will bring, so it is also a good idea to be flexible. But because of the uncertainty this week, it would probably not be a good idea to make commitments. Best to wait until the dust settles. And give yourself permission to change your mind. In this weather, things come to light that you might not have considered before.

Sagittarius

Be prepared for some changes in plans, or sudden unexpected distractions. Also give yourself permission to change your mind or point of view on a question. Things could come to light this week that could cause you to see something in a different light. Best to wait until everything becomes apparent before jumping to conclusions or making definite decisions. Things are in a state of flux, and even though it is all you can do to sit back, it is a good idea to wait until the dust settles. Not a good idea to rush things no matter how impatient you may be. Things are just moving so quickly, we’ll all want to be mindful of what we are saying and doing, and who we are saying it to.

Capricorn

This week is a strange combination of unexpected distractions and well-deserved self-indulgence. The one danger with the combination of the two is the inclination towards retail therapy and impulse buying. On a small scale that’s okay, but when it comes to big purchase items, probably best to wait the week out, rather than be surprised. But do connect with those people and things that bing a sense of ease and pleasure. Many a Capricorn has been put through the shredder these past few years, and now that Jupiter has entered your sign, seize the moments granted you to do something for yourself that simply feel good; or that can restore a sense of rightness in the world once again. Listen and go with your heart.

Aquarius

The Earth has made its turn about the Sun and is now returning to your sign once again. And as it does so it leads with a sense of renewal and energy, and perhaps even a little hope, in a way that you have not experienced in quite a long time. Unfortunately it also brings a dose of impatience and inner restlessness to the foreground. We can all anticipate some unexpected changes of circumstance and plans over the course of the week, so we are also being expected to be flexible and creative. If you are confronted with a sudden change in plans, and you can do something about it, then do so. If there’s nothing to be done about it, then figure out how you can either wait for a better time to proceed, or figure out a way around it. One thing that may become apparent, is that you are not alone, there are others here with you in this great experiment we call life.

Pisces

Pisces welcomes Venus to their domain, and Venus is just thrilled to be here with you. All the more so this week as she approaches a sextile to expansive Jupiter. There can be something celebratory when these two meet, but even more important, in some way you are being asked to listen and go with your heart. Even if that means taking some time out for yourself, or to spend quality time with friends and loved ones. With the third quarter Moon phase, and up until the New Moon we are usually asked to withdraw, rest and go within. Try to avoid filling these days with undue activity or distraction. This may require having to turn off some of the electronics in order to create the space to do so. And even if you can’t totally escape the distractions in the world, whatever space and silence you can cultivate will allow for much needed insights.
