Horoscopes: December 11th thru 18th

For the week of December 11th thru the 18th, be sure to read your Rising Sign as well:

Aries

This Solar Eclipse in positive Sagittarius brings you the courage of your convictions, and lights the way for you to see a new path unfolding before you. Sagittarius is a sign of inspiration, and brings a vision and a plan for the future. Eclipses can be unpredictable, so there really is no telling where we will land. But they can often be life-changing. We’re not entirely sure what the future is bringing but it does afford the opportunity to free us up in some way, lightening the load, and opening the way to new possibilities. With Saturn moving into Aquarius next week, followed by Jupiter, we are all beginning to ask ourselves: “What’s next?” Where are we going to go from here? All the more so for Aries, who may be feeling that they are outgrowing their old life, and are just about ready to start experimenting with new and innovative ideas.

Taurus

Taurus is asking: What am I still holding on to that I no longer need? And where exactly do I fit in with the new paradigm that is unfolding? I may not necessarily want to go back to the safety and security of what and who I used to be… so where do I fit in with this new schema that is becoming? Everything is subject to change, and this coming year is certainly no exception. But change also means that there is the possibility for growth and improvement. And if there were some area of your life that is worth improving? Where in your life would you want most to grow? You may be happy with where you currently are. In which case how can you make it even better? With Uranus traveling in your sign and Jupiter and Saturn entering Aquarius, the world is evidently evolving and growing and changing, and you are being asked to hitch along for the ride.

Gemini

There is a combination of forces that have been stirring things up in the Geminian world these days. Especially so with the eclipses in the signs of Gemini and Sagittarius this year and next. Not only is this placing a spotlight on you, but on your relationships and their expecations of you. As a consequence these years can be indicative of great beginnings and endings in your lives. And now that Saturn and then Jupiter are entering Aquarius, it’s bringing you into a whole new venue of experience. Perhaps even one that you had not considered or thought possible. But in order to get there, and streamline the process, you might want to see how you can shift things around, willingly releasing some of the old narratives that are no longer working or relevant, in order to make room for the new ones trying to make their way in.

Cancer

Cancer is sensitive to these unpredictable and shifting eclipse seasons. Being a lunar sign, you will find your life ebbing and flowing with even the most subtle of the lunar tides. And Solar Eclipses, like their monthly brethren, the ordinary New Moons, are times of renewal and beginning. But because we seem to have less control over these eclipse periods, there is often a wait and see feeling that accompanies them. It can often feel as if we are being inundated with too much information, but not necessarily what we need to know in order to make an informed decision. So it is often wise to wait until the air clears after the Eclipses leave, before making important decisions. For Cancer these eclipse seasons are like turning points where it feels necessary to bring closure and completion to some areas of your life that are holding you back, and preventing you from thriving. This then opens up the field to the promise of what these eclipses can also bring you when all is said and done.

Leo

One thing that we can count on in the universe, one thing that is consistent, is the idea of impermanency. Everything, and everyone has its tenure in our lives: a beginning, a culmination and a grand finale. And we can fully appreciate all that these have brought us in their own time, and in their own way. But there does come a time when the old gives way to the new. And what once was is ready to move on. Either they or we have reached the end of their cycle, and are ready for newer pastures. This can sometimes leave a hole in our lives. But out of the grief that is left emerges a new birth, with new hope, and new expectations. It may not be the same as what once was. But it still holds promise and inspiration for a future that is yet to be, and filled with a myriad of creative possibilities.

Virgo

In times of uncertainty it is hard to have faith in the future. And yet in some area of your life you are being asked to have a plan. Even if it is a plan to tie up all of the loose ends of your life. To arrive at some sort of completion. Like an attempt to take all the disparate parts of your life and wrap them all up in some sort of organized schema, like creating a skein out of all the spare pieces of yarn, you can then create order out of the chaos that once was. And even in the face of uncertainty, even if you are navigating through a fog on a stormy night; you have the surety of having all of your affairs in order. And then you can move forward with confidence, even if you do have to navigate in the dark.

Libra

Environment is everything. Location, location, location. Once you have that figured out, then you can launch yourself out into the universe and beyond with greater confidence, and take yourself, your work, your hopes for the future, to the next level. And once you have that location, reverence for your environment is also important. That means taking care of your surroundings, and not letting them go to pot or get all cluttered and frayed at the seams. Libra needs a well ordered space and environment in order to be able to function, and a schedule you can hang your hat on. You never know what Eclipses are going to bring to the table, and there is an obtuse sort of busyness to this Solar Eclipse that can drive you crazy with distraction. Just make sure that things don’t get beyond you. Now that Saturn is entering Aquarius next week, use its discipline to create some semblance of order in your midst. Your mind will thank you.

Scorpio

Two weeks ago we asked you to explore and embrace your material and magical potential, suggesting that there is a vast well of talent just waiting to be explored. The Solar Eclipse this coming week is about new beginnings, and following through, and thinking in terms of self-worth and sustainability. This eclipse suggests that in order to make a new beginning, to venture on to this path of new awareness, you are also being asked to release those things that are standing in the way of progress. That can have to do with any self-limiting beliefs that you may be harboring about yourself. That includes things like, I am not good enough, not knowledgable enough; not experienced enough. However, it is when you come to the understanding that you don’t know everything, and that there is so much more to learn, that you then become aware of this vast potential that is opening up before you. And that can be exciting.

Sagittarius

Eclipses can be associated with great beginnings and great endings in our lives. All the more so when they fall in our sign. And even more so when they are in the same degree of sensitive points in your chart. The Solar Eclipse on Monday is at 23º of Sagittarius, and will most affect those born between December 11th thru the 17th, or who have 20-26º of Sagittarius Rising. In the years that the eclipses fall in these personal signs, you can find yourself brought out on to the world stage in some way; have the attention placed on you; or have your life transformed in some significant way. It can bring recognition and attention. But even if you are content with your life, even if there aren’t any imminent changes for you; look and see if there are things that you were wanting to improve. These eclipses can open up the opportunities to do so, and open up a whole new unexplored phase in the process.

Capricorn

For the past few years that Saturn has been in your sign, you’ve been exploring your role and reputation in the world. Some found that responsibilities seemed to increase. Many found themselves on the threshold of a whole new beginning in their lives. For some that may even have meant starting all over from the very beginning, having to take these new baby steps. Perhaps even at a time in life when you feel that you should already be established. We’ll be talking more about this over the next several weeks. But now that Saturn and then Jupiter are entering Aquarius you’ll be thinking more about how you can make that new idea, project, trajectory or plan that you’ve been trying to get going, more of a closer reality. In the mean time, the Solar Eclipse on Monday is showing you that sometimes in order to make a new beginning, you sometimes have to begin with a new ending, tossing out all that you have since outgrown. Which includes outdated concepts of who you used to think you were.

Aquarius

Whether or not you were aware of it, you’ve been preparing for this moment for some time. If anything it may have felt like layers of your life were being peeled away, revealing only the bare center and essence of what is left. In the process you’ve been going through a tremendous period of releasing, ending, healing and letting go. Next Thursday, Saturn will enter your sign followed by Jupiter, and for the next few years you will be reacquainting yourself, with yourself, and exploring every facet of your life. For some it could feel like you are beginning your life all over again from the very beginning. We will be discussing this more thoroughly over the next few weeks. But in the mean time, take advantage of the Solar Eclipse on Monday to realign yourself with your ideals, or rather, realign your ideals with you. A tremendous amount of growth has been taking place over the past several years, and what used to be valid for you in the before times, very likely is no longer relevant for who you are now, and who you are becoming.

Pisces

In some way your outer reputation, what you are known for, or perhaps what you would prefer to be known for is changing. For some this could be dramatic, such as with a change in profession or the role that you play in the outer world. For others this may be more about the values you hold, and how you want to be seen exhibiting these, and being known for those qualities. But even if there aren’t any dramatic changes, do think in terms of what it is you would like to see improved. Do not be discouraged if things are ending, or shifting. That sometimes happens to make room for that which needs to grow. And the truth is in these times of uncertainty, it may not yet be clear to you, or to others, exactly what that is going to be. This requires faith, even though the way is unclear for now. And even though messages may seem conflicting and ambiguous. All will become clearer in its own time, in its own way.
