Horoscopes: April 17th thru 24th
For the week of April 17th thru the 24th, be sure to read your Rising Sign as well:
Aries
You might expect Aries to be biting at the bit, wanting to be free of any and all restraints. But Aries is also often way ahead of the curve, anticipating what could and will probably happen next. So they just may be taking things in their own hands right now making sure that everyone is doing their quarantine/lock-down/re-emergence into society in an expedient and correct manner. If they’re not enforcing martial law, they may be commandeering elsewhere. They’ve got that whole ‘take-charge’ attitude going on these days. For the greater good, of course. Aries will also be feeling this radical New Moon energy that’s coming up this week. One thing that is apparent is that changing situations require new priorities. Therefore some adjustments may need to be made, without losing sight of the end goal. A good intention for the New Moon therefore might be: May I be flexible enough to adjust to the changing times, while still being able to prioritize those things which are most meaningful to me.
Taurus
We enter Taurus season this weekend (Happy Birthday Sun Sign Taurus!), which is then officially launched with the New Moon on the 22nd (or 23rd depending on where you live). What has been so interesting for everyone, but most of all Taurus, is the fact that unpredictable Uranus has been traveling here (since 2018!), and will be until 2025. This New Moon will be just a few degrees away from Uranus, highlighting not only the changes going on in the world at large, but in your own life as well. Uranus has this way of shaking us out of our lethargy and stirring things up, so that things are not likely to be quite the same ever again. People may not appreciate all the changes that you are embracing. But perhaps that’s because they never really knew the real you that’s been waiting to emerge. See if you can make the intention with the New Moon in Taurus to be a truer, more authentic, more realer than real, version of your former self, without any apologies.
Gemini
There’s a sharp contrast between social debutante Gemini, and Gemini resigned to being on lockdown this week. I hear tell there are some places in the world where humans roam free. Though even in those places I imagine there is some trepidation about venturing out into the world these days. No telling where danger may lurk. As a result we are all resorting to more creative ways to socialize and connect with each other. But it will be the moments alone that will be most illuminating this week. And perhaps even surprising. There’s no telling what you may discover when you are alone with your own mind and memories. One thing that may become apparent, are those things that you no longer need, and are irrelevant for the person you are becoming. It’s time to clear out all the space junk in your life, so that you can then proceed with a much lighter load. A good intention for the New Moon in Taurus this week might be: May I find myself willingly releasing an old order, in order to make a new and better beginning.
Cancer
We’re all having to make some adjustments these days. And it may seem a little grim and tiring as we are all trying to adjust to a New Normal, whatever that may now be. And that may mean having to plan for a future that is bound to be a little unpredictable for some time to come. The key here is to find ways to still expand your horizons, so that you can also expand your opportunities going forward. The New Moon in Taurus aims to put Cancer more in touch with their dreams and aspirations for the future. If you are on the right path then the adjustments will be towards keeping you on that path. However, if you feel that you got off course, and need to realign yourself with your personal ideals, this may be your opportunity to find ways to do that. A good intention for this New Moon may be: If this path is meant for me, may the best possible circumstances arise to see it fulfilled.
Leo
The Sun enters Taurus on Sunday bringing us into the verdant world of Mother Earth. This is usually a time of year in which we strive to ground ourselves, and achieve some peace and stability in our lives. It’s when we begin to relax into the season, stop to smell the budding flowers, and seek beauty and contentment. However, this year is unlike other years, and we’ll all be struggling to adjust to changes that either have already been made, or we know are likely to occur in the not so distant future. And at this New Moon many of us are negotiating our losses while confronting unexpected changes. Nonetheless, the seasons progress, time marches on, the flowers bloom and a new dawn awakens. And we will adjust to what that new dawn brings. An intention for this New Moon might be: May I be led to realize my life’s path and purpose in this time of change and unpredictability.
Virgo
Even in a world of unpredictability where things can just change on a dime, there are still so many blessings to be grateful for. Small favors perhaps, but still the sort of thing that makes things worth their while. A few things to be grateful for: having a voice and using it to say what’s on your mind; catching up with all those details and things that seemed to have got away from you; and finding yourself able to focus on those things that truly matter right now. Like the beauty of nature as it unfolds. At the New Moon in Taurus we often find ourselves figuring out what our true priorities are when all is said and done. And that’s all the more so in times of uncertainty. Focus on the good stuff: the memories you have as well as the ones you are making. A good intention for Virgo this month may be: I want to see myself noticing and more fully appreciating the abundance that nature has to offer.
Libra
What are those things, or who are those people that you are most passionate about? In some way you are being asked to tell everyone what you are really feeling. Sometimes you just gotta say what you gotta say. With humor and decorum of course. But still saying it! It will be harder to keep it all in. This week we also welcome in the New Moon in Taurus. A New Moon that is usually about peaceful interludes and a time when Libra attempts to plan for the future, getting her ducks in a row, and sorting out her finances. However it’s difficult to plan when things are so unpredictable. That’s why we have things like insurance, and actually have back up plans for the unforeseeable as well. Because, you just never know these days! A good affirmation for Libra with the Taurus New Moon might be: I am open and receptive to any and all changes that will allow me to grow in unforeseeable ways.
Scorpio
Absence makes the heart grow fonder. One of the things that many are and will be exploring are our relationships to others. This may be to specific people as we scramble for new and better ways to communicate with one another. But it’s also about the way we do relationships. Unusual times allow us to look at things from another perspective. We come to realize that we don’t necessarily have to do things the way it is always done, or the way we have in the past, or what everyone else does. The New Moon in Taurus, for Scorpio, often finds you focused on the other people in your life, whether these be personal or otherwise. Perhaps a good intention for Scorpio for this particular Taurus New Moon might be: May I be open to attracting, and find myself cultivating the sorts of relationships that will allow and/or inspire me to be a better version of myself.
Sagittarius
In the light of changing circumstances we are all going to be creating new habits and new routines that will better support our health and well-being going forward. Just the increasing awareness of our interdependence with everyone else in the world, never mind our own individual environment can be mind blowing. But it also reminds us of our responsibility for others. We may not have total control over our environment, or other’s behaviors, but we can control our own habits and behaviors. And therefore creating better habits, better routines, that will benefit yourself as well as others, might be something to consider this week with the New Moon in Taurus. Sometimes sudden turns of fate can be something of a reboot and an excuse to get yourself back on track and pay attention to things that you might have previously taken for granted. A good affirmation for Sagittarius with the New Moon in Taurus can be: Wisdom is recognizing that health is the greatest of blessings.
Capricorn
Pluto in Capricorn is about to station retrograde on the 25th, and you may be more sensitive to its rumblings as it turns. It does so every year. But this year also brings a reminder of the many ways that your life has been, and continues to change and evolve. At times it was difficult to stay the course. But Capricorn is a sign that is honed and polished over the course of time. The New Moon in Taurus stands as a reminder of your highest and truest potential that is still yet to unfold. There is also a reminder here that in order to continue to grow and fulfill your potential, you also need to make room for those things that make it all meaningful and worthwhile. This week seek to make time for those things that connect you to your heart: a song, a dance, a walk in nature, hearing your loved one’s voice. A good intention for the New Moon in Taurus might be: May I step out of the way, in order to allow love and joy to enter my life and open my heart to all that is good in the world.
Aquarius
Although outwardly it may seem as if not much has been happening with Aquarius these past few years, an awful lot has actually been going on internally. This has been something of a preparatory phase, sloughing off what you have outgrown. And soon will be the time for the rebuilding and remodeling phase now that Saturn is in your sign. But for this remodeling phase, do realize that you may need to create your own template, as the old ones will no longer suffice. And it may be a while before you will know what that new template is going to look like. Yes, the world is changing in remarkable ways, and finding yourself within that new paradigm is going to be evolving as we approach what will be a new normal. So a good intention for the New Moon in Taurus may be: May I be open to the changes that are unfolding, recognizing that they are bringing me exactly where I need to be.
Pisces
Absence makes the heart grow fonder. It’s amazing how we can take for granted the small things of everyday life. And then when they are not there any more, we feel lost at sea. For many of us who are still on lock down, not having our neighborhood stores, libraries, and coffee shops can bring a sense of nostalgia for what once was. Even if you haven’t been to the library in ages, or purchased that latte in months. There was comfort in knowing they were there. And the people that sat on that stoop, or who sat outside the deli each day. The neighbor who walks her dog at the same time every day. How are you going to get the local news? Who moved? Who graduated? Who planted which flowers where? We wave, we smile, we yell at each other from afar, and look for creative ways to connect. The New Moon in Taurus for Pisces is about those sorts of connections we make on an everyday basis. Therefore a good intention for Pisces to make with the New Moon in Taurus might be: I want to see myself more fully appreciating the simple daily encounters of my everyday life.
