Horoscopes: May 1st thru the 8th

Flora by Evelyn de Morgan

For the week of May 1st thru the 8th, be sure to read your Rising Sign as well:

Aries

Priorities are swiftly changing from day to day. And it may feel like you need to make some quick decisions, especially when new information comes to light. It would be good to start the week taking a long deep breath in order to get your bearings, and avoid rushing madly into anything just yet. It seems that many of the decisions have already been made, and now it’s just a matter of seeing how this is all going to unfold. What you don’t want is to get so lost in distraction that you don’t know if you are coming or going, or what is valid and what is not. The next several weeks could have you attempting to make sense of that which shall not be known, and lead you down a wormhole of too much information, misleading information, and generalized contradictions. We’re all going to have to check and re-check everything before the month is over.

Taurus

Unexpected changes may have found you needing to drop everything and change your plans at the last moment. Up till now, adjusting to the new normal was more about hunkering down, which is something Taurus can do all too well. It’s those unexpected twists and turns that can be disorienting. All the more so in an environment where things just don’t seem to make very much sense any more. You don’t want to be in denial about what is going on in the world at large, but there are limits to what you can handle. And since we really don’t know what tomorrow will bring these days, it is probably best not to try and read too much into things. So rather than worrying about what you should have done last year, or what might happen tomorrow, look for distractions that keep you centered in the here and now, and focus on those things that you do have control over. The rest will unfold as it will. And as it does, you will know precisely what you will need to do.

Gemini

The past has this way of haunting us. And it may have seemed lately like all of your secrets were being exposed. Is nothing sacred any more? Is there no more privacy? But these can also be times in which what you uncover can also be very illuminating. You may not want anyone else knowing about it, but it is illuminating! Pay attention to what you have learned, and what you continue to learn over the next week, for it could prove to be useful going forward. And you will want to be as fully informed as you can over the weeks ahead. Avoid giving in to the temptation to believe something just because it confirms what you want to believe about a situation. Neither should you assume something to be so because you fear it. There are bound to be a number of contradictions, and it would be wise for all of us to fact check everything before making any major decisions or commitments for now.

Cancer

The Moon is growing this week, straight through to the Full Moon on the 7th. This is another Super Moon, so it should be spectacular in the night sky. As will Venus be putting on a show rising just after sunset. The week before the Full Moon is often when Cancer people are the busiest, and can even have a boost of welcome energy to accomplish any goals that you may have set for yourself. This month is a little different however because of the otherworldliness that seems to be pervading everything. And it will be so easy to get distracted! One thing that may become more apparent this month are the ways that although we are separated from each other, we are not alone. When you step out to see the Full Moon next Thursday, remember that everyone will be seeing that same Moon in their part of the world as well. There are also meaningful ways in which we are all connected.

Leo

When it feels like you are having to put out one fire after another; or perhaps receiving a tsunami-load of conflicting information, you might be feeling like a deer frozen in the headlights. How can you process all of this at once? It is time to turn down the volume, and tune out the noise. And if that means setting firmer boundaries with others and saying No, so be it. You need your freedom, and you need your serenity. And that begins with being realistic about what your limits are. If you accept this challenge, by the end of this coming week you will have found your much earned peace and serenity. That place where you are safe from the chaos of the clamoring hoards, and where you can finally take some time to heal.

Virgo

After the skillful navigation from the previous week, there is promise of more peaceful times ahead. But there may be a few more adjustments before you get there. And one task for the week might be to take an objective look at everything that has transpired over the past few months, paying attention to what has brought you to the place where you are now. Since we can’t really believe what anyone else is saying these days, it is well nigh time to try and gain at least a little clarity in our own personal lives. We need to get our bearings! Then hopefully by the time the Moon is Full next Thursday, you can finally take a nice long breath. You’re due a welcome break. Take it. You’ll need your strength and energy for the weeks ahead.

Libra

Sudden realizations can come as a lightning bolt out of the blue. This may have you exclaiming to yourself: Well, no wonder I am the way that I am! That explains everything! Oh, Lord, but what if someone else finds out? Once you see something it will be hard to unsee it again. And could find you getting lost down the wormhole of lost information, as you attempt to make sense of the insensible. Sometimes it is helpful to concede that there are just some things that you will never fully understand. Thankfully. And worrying too much about that-which-is-not-to-be-understood will only leave you a withering dishrag of your former self. If you’re going to be distracted any way, at least look for activities that feed and nourish your soul and mind, rather than confound it. Those are the distractions you will be needing more of over the next few weeks.

Scorpio

What you learn about others, or what they show you about yourself may be both surprising and illuminating. What exactly does this tell you about yourself? What is the perception that you want others to have of you? How do you wish to be seen? We are gearing up for a glorious Full Moon in Scorpio next Thursday. Something is coming to fruition, shining a light on your life. And it may be difficult to unsee something once it is seen. So are our fates blossoming in the light of the Full Moon in Scorpio. If you are happy with what you see. Then look for way to further cultivate these qualities in yourself. If you are not so happy, realize that this is also an opportunity to make appropriate changes. This is how we have the capacity to ever evolve and grow.

Sagittarius

Things, people and circumstances may not be all that they were promised to be. And this can lead to feelings of disenchantment and disillusionment. Do not rush to judgment or read too much into things. Or make decisions that you will later regret. Over the next few months many are going to be reevaluating commitments and relationships as Venus slows for its retrograde station in a few weeks. Focus on those things and those people that feed your self-worth and self-esteem, and release those that make you feel diminished or unworthy. And although the distance from others could feel at times as if it is growing over the next few weeks, truly we are never so connected with our true heart’s yearnings as when Venus is in its retrograde phase.

Capricorn

It is hard to keep a schedule when the schedules have a mind of their own and our lives are riddled with distraction. Who can remember to eat breakfast, when you don’t even know what day it is? You’re probably going to have to just let some things go. Your main priority these days is to be in the moment, focusing on what is in front of you, letting some things go, and trying not to think too much about tomorrow. It would be fruitless any way. Exercise? Well, maybe tomorrow. What this week is good for? Finding that space and oasis where you can find some much needed peace and serenity. We’re all needing a bit of a respite from the cacophony.

Aquarius

There are moments in life when we are compelled to just drop everything, and take care of what is dropped in our lap at the last moment. This requires a certain amount of gymnastics and extra coordination. Things could be moving pretty quickly these days. So be assured that things are going to be slowing down, in order to allow you to get your bearings once again. However, one thing is becoming abundantly clear the further we get into this year, and that is that there really is no going back to the way things used to be. You may be hoping for and trying for a do-over, but there are reasons why you are going to need to look forward, not back.

Pisces

Some unexpected news and sudden change of plans could find you dropping everything in order to adjust your calendar. What you learn could be illuminating and even mind blowing. Rest assured though, that everything is probably proceeding according to plan, even if it doesn’t feel like it at first. We’ll all be slowing down over the next few weeks, as the planets are also beginning to stall. This is the natural course of events, but it’s doing so in an atmosphere of confusion, distraction and a pile of contradictions. What this week will be good for (once we get past the weekend: Reading a good book, getting lost in your imagination, seeking peace, escape, and moments for harmless fantasy. See if you can find time to surrender to the moment, and don’t allow your fears or confusion to mar your dreams.
