Horoscopes: May 15th thru 22nd

For the week of May 15th thru the 22nd, be sure to read your Rising Sign as well:

Aries

Now that Mars is in Pisces and all of these other planets are now retrograde, you may find your energy and some of your motivation waning. Or maybe you simply can’t do what you want to (the gym isn’t open; your recreation time is limited; you’re feeling a little trapped). However, there can also be some advantages to this slower, more languid time. For one thing, when you aren’t rushing from one thing to the next you begin to notice things that you hadn’t before. There is more room to be inspired. And you find yourself more present. On the other hand, if you do find yourself more anxious than usual over the next few weeks, look for low-key recreational activities to reorient and ground yourself: some virtual yoga, or a therapeutic walk in the park might do. Aries just needs to move. But also realize you will probably want to conserve your energy, for once Mars enters your sign the end of June, you’ll be needing all you can spare.

Taurus

Venus will be retrograde for the next 6 weeks. And during this time we are all coming to consider and reevaluate those things that really matter. Is it really about how much you have, or how much you are worth? Security is important to Taurus, but when all is said and done, what are those things, those people, those experiences that fill your heart with happiness and joy? What are those things that you most want to invest your valuable time, money and resources on? For these are the things that not only support you; but also bring deeper meaning to your life. Never are we so in touch with those things that resonate with our heart center, as when Venus is in its retrograde phase. Right now you may be awash in a veil of confusion, or perhaps even a touch of despair. The uncertainty of the times have us fearful of losing those things that we want and depend on. All the more reason to focus on those things of the heart that really matter. Those things that can never be lost.

Gemini

Now that Mercury is in your own sign, it could feel as if you have so many things to say, to learn, to discuss, to discover. If these were normal times, with Mercury convening with Venus this week, this would be an excellent time for reunions and get-togethers. Yet things are not totally normal yet, and we are still confounded by uncertainty. This makes it difficult to make plans, or know what’s going to happen next! In this time of unknowability, and with so many planets now retrograde, we are still, perhaps even more so, being asked to slow down. But when you do slow down, you will discover that you begin to see and notice things that you hadn’t before. Even though you can’t make plans, and you cannot necessarily do all the things you might normally want to do, what you can do is be present with each and every moment. This allows you to see more, hear more, feel more, sense more in ways that you might not have considered. Sometimes just being present is all that is being asked of you; and inspiration can be the gift that you will find in this place.

Cancer

Now that both Jupiter and Pluto are retrograde they are also both asking you to move on from those relationships and experiences that have worn out their welcome. Anything or anyone who limits your growth or stifles your personal expression will be reconsidered, as you are able to step back and see things more objectively. It’s those people and experiences that help to further your growth, who inspire you to be a happier and better version of yourself that will never overstay their welcome, no matter what planets may align. Jupiter also dares you to expand your broader possibilities. What you might not have even considered a year ago, is now looking much more attractive. And now with both Jupiter and Pluto retrograde, you are asking yourself to take a deeper, more honest look at all these different possibilities, and whether or not they are right for you.

Leo

As we mentioned last week, when you have a sense of some sort of inner purpose, the more empowered you will  feel. And the more empowered you are, the clearer you will be about what your limits and boundaries are. It also makes you aware of what is or is not part of that path and purpose. With all of these planets recently stationing retrograde, we are all too ready to slough off that which is no longer needed in our lives, focusing on the priorities and the essentials. And although we are all being urged to slow down and place the focus within, there are still some seeds of optimism and hope for the future trying to find some place to take root. Seeds of potential are there, and they are just looking for some sort of fertile soil in which to grow. And so, a vision for the future gradually emerges even in the midst of all the mayhem, fog and confusion.

Virgo

Now that Mercury is in Gemini it may seem at times that you can see your way ahead clearly. And then something happens to remind you that there’s just no telling what can happen from day to day. We are living in a time of uncertainty, mixed messages, and general mayhem; and trying to sort it all out, and make sense of the insensible just seems plain fruitless at the moment. Be prepared to be distracted this week. Probably best not to believe everything you hear. But realize also that you are not alone. We are all being hopelessly distracted, and it will be all you can do to sort things out. A Virgo’s nightmare. The best advice for the week is to arm yourself with the sharp sword of discrimination, in order to better parse out misinformation. You can also just take some time out and binge-watch the Honeymooners or Netflix until you are fully out of the insanity. Avoidance also works.

Libra

Mars entering Pisces last week might actually benefit you initially. Especially where it concerns getting a bit of a handle on your routines and diet, and whatever else seems to have got out of control. But don’t be too hard on yourself if you find yourself falling back into old habits and tendencies. Now that Venus is retrograde it may be difficult to keep yourself on track, as the best laid plans may seem to go awry. We are all sort of working through this fugue, where we’re not quite sure what to believe or where to turn, and so we grasp at straws. Rather than trying to make sense of the insensible, allow yourself to tune in to your intuition, and allow that to serve as your guide. In some way you are being asked to pay attention to those small things that will make all the difference in your daily routines, investing your daily activities with greater meaning and some inkling of purpose.

Scorpio

One of the advantages of having Mars in Pisces is that when you slow down and pay attention to what you are seeing, hearing, feeling and sensing, you also find yourself more deeply inspired. It is not the most energetic placement. And with so many of the planets recently stationed, you could find your energy toned down. But when we dare to tune out some of the noise in our lives, it opens up all your other senses, feelings and passions. One thing Mars in Pisces can do for you is help to light the romantic flames in your heart. This might mean having to find creative ways to connect with others in this time of social distancing, or it can also be channeled through creatively inspired activities. With both, just allow yourself to go with the flow, and be in each and every moment, savoring it all. There’s no telling what those moments will bring.

Sagittarius

If you were to pause, as many of us are being compelled to do these days, and stop for a moment to think: what are those things that you are most grateful for and value most in your life? What would they be? As Jupiter has just paused for its retrograde station, you are being asked to look within, and acknowledge those things that you intrinsically value and are the most important to you. You may surprise yourself at how simple these may be: a safe haven; a roof over your head; food on the table; having someone in your life who supports you and makes you feel whole. And also those things that make your life meaningful; that light up your life and bring you joy: a job well done; the feel of the warm sun on your face; the sound of your child’s voice; a sunset in the evening. What is it that most sparks your joy? Those are the things that are priceless.

Capricorn

When Jupiter stations retrograde, as it just did this past Thursday, it is often accompanied by a surge of hope and optimism. But it is also realized that although there is this promise of better days ahead, we are also having to put on the brakes and wait. The conditions that will allow that promise to be fulfilled have not yet fully come together. So you might also want to take advantage of this down time. Especially as things may have been a little hectic these past several months. Things will probably pick up again in the Fall when Jupiter and Saturn are direct again, but in the mean time the next few months can be used to regain your footing. See if you can reorient yourself, and make sure that you are still on track. Slowing down and catching your breath can help you to regain that perspective.

Aquarius

There is a certain amount of healing that can occur over the next few months, if you are willing to turn down the noise and tune out for a bit. The retrograde phase of Jupiter can be a time of retreat and silent withdrawal from worry and angst. And a time to make room for some silent reflection as well. This time out is a necessary pause that is allowing you to get back in touch with yourself. It could literally transform your mind and whole perspective. A great deal can be learned when you are able to sit still with your own mind, and just wonder. Let go of the things you no longer need: any worries, the should haves or could haves. Like a field that is filled with weeds, you are making room for better seeds to grow. In the mean time, whether you realize it or not, you are prepping and tilling the ground.

Pisces

With Mercury and Venus convening in the very social sign of Gemini, this would normally be a great week for reunions and get-togethers. But with the prevailing anxiety about social distancing, and the threat of hidden toxins, most are veering on the side of caution, and for good reason. Despite the uncertainty and mixed messages, there can still be creative ways to allow a meeting of hearts and minds to take place without all the worry and stress. Several planets just stationed retrograde this past week, and so we are also being asked to pause before rushing into anything. This may be difficult for you to do, now that Mars is in your sign. Mars brings the urge to take action. Step back and make sure that you have all of your priorities in a row first. Then you can move forward with confidence.
