Horoscopes: October 15th thru 22nd

For the week of October 15th thru the 22nd, be sure to read your Rising Sign as well:

Aries

There is a Full Moon in your sign on October 20th this coming week, that could serve as something of a turning point. Full Moons are times of culmination, and can reveal circumstances in our lives that can no longer be ignored. This will be especially true for this Full Moon, as the tension being revealed here has probably been building up for some time. And if you haven’t already, you will be seriously thinking about what you can do to relieve some of that tension. Just go with caution, and pause before you commit to any actions, say something that could easily be misconstrued, or throw fuel on any smoking embers. Be aware of the consequences before you take action. You may be feeling like your hands are tied, or that unreasonable demands are being made of you by others. In which case, pull back, retreat, gather your allies, and wait for a more favorable time to take action. This is the sort of weather where the aggressor, or the one who initiates the battle is doing so at a disadvantage. And Aries hates to lose. Therefore it is wisdom, not cowardice, to take a step back, pause and survey the territory before proceeding.

Taurus

As Jupiter stations direct on Sunday or Monday (depending on where you are in the world), followed by the Mercury station direct on Monday, it could feel as if the way is being opened in order to allow you to proceed with your plans for the future. Anything that had been put on hold, will soon be able to move forward once again. This can bring a surge of optimism and hope for the future for what you are now capable of achieving. When Mercury stationed retrograde at the end of September, it was trying to get you to align yourself with some sort of higher purpose. Now you may see some practical ways to make that a closer reality. It could take some time for Mercury to pick up speed again and come out of its ‘shadow’ in early November. But even as Mercury makes this shift, you will begin to see things in a different light. One way that this can happen is through heart felt conversations and connections made with others that allows you to see things from another, perhaps more objective perspective. Teachers can come in a myriad of forms and disguises, and are especially meaningful when they also come from a place of love.

Gemini

Your ruling planet, Mercury, stations direct on the 18th, reorienting us once again to what we usually think of as normal. As we approach this station you may have noticed a shift in the way that you perceive things. It could take some time for Mercury to pick up speed again and come out of its ‘shadow’ in early November. But even as Mercury makes this station, you will begin to see things in a different light, and may even change your mind about something. When Mercury stationed retrograde on September 27th it did so with a trine to Jupiter, trying to get you more in alignment with your hopes for the future. This week both Jupiter and Mercury will station within hours of one another opening the way, and allowing the conditions to come together that will allow you to then proceed. And now that Mercury is stationing direct it does so with a trine to Saturn, which is trying to show you the practical ways that will allow you to make your hopes a closer and more manageable reality.

Cancer

Even with the stations direct of Mercury and Jupiter this week, the days leading up to the Full Moon on the 20th are raw, powerful and transformative, and can not, nor will not, be ignored. It could feel a bit like some of us are walking through the gauntlet of our lives, while also stepping on eggshells. Mercury direct and trine Saturn is asking us to look objectively at our current situations without throwing any extra fuel on whatever smoldering fires are erupting. Cancer is always aware of the Full Moons. But this one is especially strong for you as it is filled with tension, that will affect all the cardinal signs in particular, Cancer included. There are issues here surrounding power, and how it is used. Or in some cases the way that power is being abused or neglected. And it allows us to step back and pay attention to those things that we no longer need, and may be keeping us from growing or taking control over our own lives and destiny. What are you needing to let go of? What needs to be released so that you can then proceed unburdened and with a much lighter load? Jupiter stationing direct, is asking you to be free.

Leo

Even though you have the warrior god, Mars, escorting you through the labyrinth of your life, it is still a labyrinth. And you could also be feeling a little besieged within that labyrinth. But before you start pouring boiling oil over the ramparts, and on to the rivaling hordes gathering outside the gates, it might be a good idea to step back and catch your breath. We are still in Libra season until the end of next week, which is a sign of peace and detente. So even as we approach the fiery Full Moon in Aries, channel the Libra Sun in order to maintain the status quo, despite any rancor coming to the surface. Mercury is stationing direct on Monday and as it does so it also gives us pause to step back, and take a breath before saying or doing something we might later regret. Words can wound, but they can also heal. And remembering to take that breath, and to remind yourself to do no harm, can ease over a myriad of tribulations when the Full Moon is in full gear on October 20th. Then later, when the hordes are distracted and beginning to move away, and the way is clear, you can safely proceed without regret.

Virgo

Your ruling planet, Mercury, stations direct on October 18th, reorienting you back to what you usually perceive as normal. Even as we were just approaching this station you may have seen a shift in your perceptions. When Mercury stationed retrograde at the end of September, it did so with a trine to Jupiter, asking you to align yourself with a more ideal lifestyle. Mercury and Jupiter will now station direct within hours of one another opening up the way for you to proceed. And now that Mercury is direct again it will make a trine to Saturn, which is showing you the practical ways to make this all a closer reality, either through your work, or your daily routines. Mercury is also in the sign of Libra, which could be helping to generate more awareness about certain gifts that you have but may have taken for granted. That is because these are things that you wouldn’t normally think of as a talent or ability. But which in fact enriches everything that you do with deeper insight and understanding. This is not something to be taken for granted. For it’s skill that allows us to do things well, but it is love that makes us do things better.

Libra

Words matter. With the upcoming Full Moon in feisty and fiery Aries it will be all too tempting to take advantage of the chinks in your opponents armor. Words can wound and even eviscerate, but at what cost, and for who’s sake? By contrast words can also heal. It’s all in the delivery and the message. And when we speak from the heart, heart to heart, we can win friends and even change minds, and influence strangers. The upcoming Full Moon can have the effect of transforming our current circumstances, as a result of something being revealed or coming to a head. Perhaps something that we were not aware of, or were trying to ignore in hopes that it would go away. However, this is likely to be something that has been building up for some time. And whatever has been brewing can no longer be ignored at this point. Lucky for us, Mercury and Jupiter are now direct, and if we have done our homework during the retrograde periods, then we will have been connecting with our own sense of ethical and moral fairness, which can be used to guide us even in the most challenging of circumstances.

Scorpio

The upcoming Full Moon on October 20th, can stir up all sorts of feelings, dreads and trepidations, from the darkest corners of our souls. The key is not to react or respond to whatever is being dredged up. For this Full Moon has the capacity to open up old wounds, renew our suspicions, and ignite our warrior souls. Just know that in this weather it is not recommended to fight these battles head on, for we will do so at a disadvantage. Your ruling planet Mars is in the sign of Libra, a sign where the warrior planet is out of place, and further it is being besieged by powerful forces. This might just mean, that no matter what is being revealed right now, or coming to a head, it is probably best to step back and avoid throwing even more fuel on any fires that ae smoldering and ready to ignite. Rather pull back and wait for a better time to proceed, when you will have the advantage. It is wisdom, not cowardice to recognize those things over which you do have control, and those that you simply do not, in order to avoid fighting a losing battle. Now that Mercury and Jupiter will be direct again, things are going to be moving forward offering you an opportunity to unburden your load. But timing is everything here.

Sagittarius

On Sunday or Monday (depending on where you are in the world), your ruling planet, Jupiter, will station direct again after having been in its retrograde phase since June 21st. As Jupiter stations it is always accompanied with a trine to the Sun which has this way of re-energizing you, and realigning you with a vision or goal for the future that you would like to see fulfilled. And with Mercury stationing direct as well on Monday, you are also being given the tools and the information that you will need, and will allow you to create some sort of plan. When Mercury stationed retrograde on September 27th, it did so with a trine to Jupiter, asking you at that time to align yourself with your foremost hope and vision for the future. Now that they are both appearing to station and then move direct again, it will begin to feel as if some of the obstacles that had been blocking your path, are now falling away, allowing you to proceed. It will still take some time for these planets to pick up speed again, but in the mean time you can use the pause to collaborate, discuss and plan. Your world is daring to get just a little bit larger.

Capricorn

There is a powerful, feisty and perhaps even transformative Full Moon on October 20th, that all the cardinal signs, including Capricorn, will be feeling this week. Even in the days leading up to the Moon, we will become aware of powerful forces coming to a head. These may be conditions that have been building up for some time. However, they are now reaching a point of tension that can no longer be ignored. And things that you may have been putting up with, or allowing to slide, will feel more intolerable. This is because Full Moons are times of culmination, when feelings and emotions come to the surface, and we see the consequences of certain events in our lives. As a result of what we become aware of we could have a change of heart, or move in a different direction. But with both Mercury and Jupiter stationing this week, we are being asked to pause and step back, and try not to force the issue. The Full Moon in Aries is a fiery and tempestuous Moon and you won’t want to throw any more fuel on the fire. What it can reveal is to show you exactly where you stand. Then when circumstances are better, you can then proceed armed with this knowledge, and using it as a tool to guide you in the future.

Aquarius

On Sunday or Monday (depending on where you are in the world), Jupiter will station direct in your sign, bringing a sense of hope and renewal for the future. Whenever Jupiter stations it always coincides with a trine from the Sun instilling hope and anticipate for what is about to now unfold. Jupiter is speaking to you through your heart, and you can just feel the excitement growing. Whenever Jupiter is in your sign, as it is right now, and especially at these stations when planets make their presence known, we are being asked to open ourselves up to the possibility of expanding our choices and our horizons, even beyond your previous expectations. Any plans or hopes that had been put on hold, are now getting ready to proceed again. What Jupiter has been trying to show you while it has been in your sign, is who you are, as well as what your potential could be. When Mercury stationed retrograde on September 27th, it did so with a trine to Jupiter trying to get you more in alignment with your vision for the future. And now they are both stationing direct this week. And as Mercury stations direct, it is trying to show you practical ways to make that vision a closer reality.

Pisces

On Sunday or Monday (depending on where you live in the world), your ruling planet, Jupiter, will station direct once again. It will take a few weeks to pick up steam. But each time that Jupiter stations it does so with a trine to the Sun, filling your heart with excitement for the possibilities that are yet to unfold. And as Jupiter stations direct again, it will be looking towards its re-entry into Pisces at the end of this year. In the mean time while it is still in Aquarius it is trying to bring you more in alignment with your sense of self and your well-being. What can arise for you when Jupiter is in Aquarius is a sense of wholeness, connectedness, acceptance, forgiveness and peace. Jupiter is not only your traditional ruling planet, but your teacher. And you are being asked by his presence here to let go and release that which no longer serves you and had been holding you back, and burdening your soul. And as a result in some remarkable way, you will find healing. You are becoming free to find your true self, and your place in the world.
