Horoscopes: October 21st thru the 28th

“persephone” by Patricia Ariel

For the week of October 21st thru the 28th, and the Solar Eclipse in your sign or natal house:

Aries

(8th House) During the retrograde phase of Saturn you have been reassessing goals, and reexamining how you see yourself in the world. People change their minds, and readjust their inner gps system during that Saturn retrograde time. With Saturn in Aquarius this can feel like your last chance, your last gasp to put it all out there and see how far you can go with what had certainly been a most cherished dream. But now that Saturn is direct again, there is going to be greater clarity as to what is, or is not, realistically achievable, and what truly serves the person you are now. This can help you to decide what your next steps are going to be from here on. Eclipses can also bring clarity. And now that we are entering this eclipse season, you are being given permission to release any self-imposed obligations that are beginning to feel too heavy. What are you holding on to, and finding difficult to let go of? Have you gotten yourself into a rut of your own making? Sometimes all it takes is getting back to what your true priorities are, and what you really need to focus on now. And sometimes all that takes is to merely say No More. What are you willing and able to release in order to walk forward with a lighter load?

Taurus

(7th House) For the duration of the Saturn retrograde phase, many a Taurus has been reassessing their goals, and their status in the world. And if you were to slap a label on yourself, and let people know that this is what you stand for, what you want to be known for, what would that label say? Now that Saturn is going to be direct again, this is your opportunity to let the world know exactly what you have to offer., and how you wish to be seen in the world And as we move into eclipse season, it can sometimes feel like the fates are busy moving some of the pieces around on the playing board in order for that to happen. Like mystical and strategic matchmakers, the fates seem to be colluding to bring certain individuals into your life, while also separating you from others. It may be that people who you were accustomed to having in your life are entering a whole new phase in their lives, which can impact your life as well. And sometimes these inevitable changes require adjusting the trajectory of your own life in order to compensate to a new reality with new expectations. Therefore embrace the changes that have already occurred, welcome the changes that are trying to unfold, and prepare yourself for the changes that are yet to come. For they could very well be bringing you precisely where you need to go in order to fulfill that image.

Gemini

(6th House) It could almost come as something of a relief to have first Mercury and now Saturn stationing for its direct phase. This is when you can get that moment of clarity, where things are finally beginning to make some sense. Things that were put on hold, are now being given the green light to proceed. And with that can also bring some clarity about where and how you fit into the larger scheme of things. Your understanding of yourself will be quite useful to you when Saturn enters Pisces in 2023. Meanwhile the Solar Eclipse on Tuesday is asking you to come back to basics, and reassess those things that support your health and well-being. If that means cutting some things out in order to make room for the things that matter, so be it. The Scorpio Solar Eclipse is asking many of us: What are you willing to let go of and sacrifice in order to promote a happier and healthier life and lifestyle? What are those things that feed your well-being, and which are those that are currently draining it? This may take some honest self-reflection and hard choices. But the sorts of choices that can make all the difference in the long term.

Cancer

(5th House) During the retrograde phase of Saturn you gave yourself permission to set limits and say No. For you, Saturn in Aquarius can make you that much more aware of when things are too much to handle, or are proving to be a distraction from your true path. Know what you need. But also know what you don’t need any more. That clarity can serve you well moving forward. The Solar Eclipse on Tuesday, serves as a turning point. And for Cancer this is about what you need to release and free yourself up from in order to rediscover that which is most original, authentic and honest about yourself. What are you holding on to, that is no longer relevant for who you are now? Allow yourself to release what once was or could have been, in order to see the possibilities that are imminent and getting ready to bloom. The Solar Eclipse New Moon is about pure potential. It is about transformation, and the ability to rise up out of the ashes of what once was, renewed and reborn. What is then created out of the ashes of what once was, will be that much more beautiful and meaningful, because of all the tears, love and cherished dreams that they have been invested with.

Leo

(4th House) One thing that can become evident with Saturn traveling in Aquarius is how our lives are so fully invested in others. When in a relationship we come to recognize what our needs are from others, and they from us. We recognize our obligations and sense of responsibility to one another. When not in a relationship you will feel the absence that much more strongly as Saturn stations. If only for very practical reasons, going it alone makes for much harder work. And never will this be more obvious than during eclipse season, where we see the very foundations of our life coming into question. With a Scorpio Eclipse there’s no telling where you are going to be landing next. It almost takes an act of desperation to find comfort and safety these days. Solar Eclipses are actually New Moons, and as such imply a new beginning. But not without being willing to release some previously held attachments to what we think that is supposed to look like. There can even be some remorse for what once was, whether it was that great apartment, or the roommate that you got along with so well. Eclipses are like turning points, where endings and beginnings can leave us scratching our heads, wondering how we got here. Just know that we can’t always see the bigger picture. But like magical and mystical orchestrations, the fates are weaving their looms, and conspiring to bring you where you need to be in order to fulfill your destiny.

Virgo

(3rd House) Never will you work quite so hard and with such deliberation and focus, as you will when Saturn is in Aquarius. And never will this be quite so obvious as when Saturn stations. However, one of the perks of Saturn stationing direct is that it can also bring you some of the rewards of doing so. There is no doubt that if you were to continue to work yourself to the bone, that it would be unsustainable. So if you have not already done so, it may become evident at this time, what sorts of changes are needed in order to make your work load and obligations more sustainable. Your health and well-being depend on you using your time more wisely and efficiently. Meanwhile, pay attention to the Solar Eclipse on Tuesday. In the sign of Scorpio, what you learn can have a transformational effect on your mind and perspective. One thing that can become evident is that all things are subject to change, and perhaps the necessity of some sort of upgrade. And that can include things like schedules, time management, and those everyday places and things that we often take for granted, and think will always be there. It’s when they are gone, or our schedule gets ahead of us, that we recognize their value. Use this New Moon Eclipse on Tuesday, to sow thanks and gratitude for the small but necessary things that keep our days running smoothly.

Libra

(2nd House) Often when Saturn is in Aquarius, Libra could feel as if there are numerous and annoying obstacles to being able to fully express yourself. You feel self-conscious, withdrawn, perhaps even avoiding the very things you used to enjoy. But you may also see yourself focusing on specific topics, or revisiting a hobby or cherished interest. In fact it is not unusual in the years that Saturn is here for you to take what was once an avocation or hobby, and turn it into something that is much more than that. And with the Solar Eclipse in Scorpio this coming Tuesday, you may even ask yourself, “What am I willing to sacrifice or have less of, in order to make this ideal a closer reality?” One thing that can become evident with this Eclipse is that often what we are holding on to is perhaps not as important as we think it is. And that attachment to that particular thing or obligation may be precisely what is holding you back and preventing you from living our own best life. Ultimately, what we come to realize, is not how much we make or are worth, but how well we value ourselves, and what we have to offer. Is there something that has become unsustainable, exhausting you or squandering your precious time, money and talent? Saturn and the Solar Eclipse are asking you to invest your resources so that they feed you, rather than drain you.

Scorpio

(1st House) The New Moon Solar Eclipse on Tuesday, is not your usual New Moon. When the eclipses fall in your sign, or in your 1st House, they are indicative of great New Beginnings and/or Endings. Or both. The South Node attending Solar Eclipse can sometimes leave us feeling drained and can even eclipse you, but with the added promise, that if you are willing to release and let go of previous attachments a new and better beginning can emerge. For this reason Eclipses can bring major transformations in our lives, and this particular Eclipse would be especially so for those Scorpios born within the first few degrees of the sign. Like an initiation, or an opportunity to evolve and grow, you are first being asked to release old patterns and habits that you have outgrown, or might be preventing you from taking the next step. There may be some sadness for that which once was. But know that once you pass through this eclipse portal, that there can be even better things waiting for you on the other side. Saturn’s station direct will help to remove some of the obstacles that have been standing in the way of progress. It is encouraging you to emerge out into the world, and meet it on its terms. Know that when you focus on the important personal foundations of your life, there’s no telling how high you can grow.

Sagittarius

(12th House) Now that Saturn is stationing this weekend, it will appear to be moving forward again. And as it does so it can bring some much needed clarity about where you are headed and what your options might be. It can also help you to create some sort of realistic schedule that you know you can live with. Something that has been hard pressed lately, now that Mars has been slowing for its retrograde station. If you are feeling the drain of the Eclipses and the Mars station, look for things that you can let go of, or no longer need in order to restore some of the energy and verve in your life. We hold on to certain ideas about ourselves, because that is what we have always known, and what we are familiar with. But if by holding on to these old out-worn notions of ourselves and who we are, we could be undermining our effectiveness. It may be time to let go of that which is draining you instead of sustaining you. In order to live a life of health and well-being, and to grow into the person you are aiming to become, what are you first going to need to release? Sometimes in order to make a new beginning, we first need to make a new ending.

Capricorn

(11th House) Your ruling planet, Saturn, will station this weekend for its direct phase. This can be most welcome. For this is when we are most likely to see the obstacles lifted from our path, or we are given the tools to remove the limitations from our lives. This will be especially so if we find ourselves in an untenable situation that can not go on the way it has in the past. Changes may be called for. Saturn is asking you to focus on your most pressing priorities, and those things that are most important and valuable to you. It’s about what is needed. The Solar Eclipse on Tuesday, is also a New Moon. And although it is an eclipse it is trying to shine a light on your most cherished hopes and dreams for the future. Note that with the Eclipse these may be shifting. What used to be your most cherished hopes may no longer be valid for who you are, and where you are now. Especially as you are coming more in touch with your priorities. The Solar Eclipse is asking you to pave the way for even better, perhaps more appropriate aspirations and dreams that are more suited for your present situation. As a result you could even find yourself parting ways, or leaving an old group, while finding yourself gravitating in a newer direction. Just know that as you leave the old dreams behind, something else will be waiting for you on the other side when you get there.

Aquarius

(10th House) It could feel sometimes when Saturn is retrograde in your sign that you are some how stuck, or that you have gotten yourself into a rut. But now that Saturn is stationing this weekend and will appear to be going direct again, you will begin to feel some obstacles and limitations fall away. It’s hard enough to get anything started when Saturn is in your sign, but at least now you won’t feel so much like you are moving backwards. Saturn traveling, and now stationing, in your own sign, is about making a whole new beginning in your life. And if that requires taking baby steps to get there, so be it. You are at the beginning of a whole new phase of your life, and in order to do it the right way, you will need to be clear with yourself about what is right for you. And what the Solar Eclipse in Scorpio might be showing you, are the things that you might want to release in order to bring yourself more in alignment with goals that are a reflection of that. It is not unusual in the years that the eclipses fall in Scorpio that you think in terms of readjusting the goal posts in your life. Great beginnings, as well as endings can occur when the eclipses spin their web and weave our destinies. Which is also what makes eclipses so unpredictable! Know that we can’t always see the larger picture. So what may seem like a detour or a disappointment can open the way for you to fulfill some greater purpose. Therefore may you roll with this series of eclipses where both endings and beginnings seem to merge.

Pisces

(9th House) By the end of next week, retrograde Jupiter will have returned to your sign for some unfinished business. Know that its intention is to remind you of what your big vision for the future can be. In the mean time, Saturn stations direct in Aquarius, and there is a Solar Eclipse in Scorpio. The station of Saturn is about letting go and releasing the things of the past. Some of these are due to necessity. We outgrow them. They outgrow us. And we prepare the way for a new beginning that will emerge when Saturn enters Pisces next year. You probably do not know what that will be just yet. But you may already find yourself leaning in a certain direction. You are coming to know yourself in the process on some very deep and significant levels. And that is what is most needed right now. Jupiter is coming back to inspire you. Then when Saturn enters your sign in 2023, that will be when any new commitments will be considered. Meanwhile the Solar Eclipse on Tuesday can open you up to a whole new perspective and awareness. But not without releasing some previously held concepts or ideas that are no longer valid for who you are becoming. When you are ready to sit and listen and observe, you can become a conduit for deeper and more profound truths. Never is this more possible than when the Sun, Moon and Earth are in such perfect alignment as they are with this Solar Eclipse in Scorpio.
