Horoscopes: April 14th thru the 21st

For the week of April 14th thru the 21st, be sure to read your Rising Sign as well:

Aries

The Solar Eclipse on April 19th/20th is the second New Moon in Aries this year. This further emphasizes and doubles down on all themes related to your sign, including shining a light on you. This is about starting anew. Like a chick hatching from out of the egg, you are being asked to embrace whatever new beginnings are unfolding from within and from without you in your life. Eclipses are not just about new beginnings, they are also like turning points in our lives, escorting us from one phase to the next. Coinciding with the transit of Pluto into Aquarius, there is an inference here that there are also going to be some shifts of power in the process. How you are able to relate to those shifts in power will determine how well you can facilitate whatever changes are trying to unfold. This is an Eclipse about your own personal self-development. About stepping into your own. About you being you. You have already been going through the process of sloughing off the old skins of your life. Now you are being asked to step over the threshold into the new life that is waiting.

Taurus

Sometimes in order to make a new beginning we have to start by making a new ending. This includes tying up loose ends, finishing off projects, clearing up the past phase in order to prepare for the next. The New Moon Eclipse in Aries, on April 19th/20th is asking you to do precisely that. Which includes this process of sorting through the remnants of a former life, the past, previous experiences, with all of their hopes, dreads, fears and delights. And if you were to ask yourself what you would take with you from all of that into the next phase of your life, what would that be? And by the same course, what are those things that you are not going to want to bring with you? What do you no longer need in your life, and is no longer valid for the new life that is emerging? And what are the things that help to inform the person you are, and will further inspire you for ever better things to come? For the Eclipse next week is both a beginning and an ending. The ending of one phase, giving birth to another. Like a snake sloughing off its skin, it is preparing you for the next new phase of your life that is about to unfold.

Gemini

Beginning with the New Moon Eclipse on April 19th/20th we are entering a period of major transformation, where the past is colliding with the future. An old order will gradually be moving on, even as a new order is gradually taking hold. And in the process we are all being taken along for the ride. And it will take a bit of processing to figure out what that all is going to mean to you over the next several weeks. In some way we are being asked to let go of some old narratives, to release a former way of being, in order to make room for, and help to facilitate this change from one phase to the next. And part of that has to do with your own relationship to power. Such as who holds the power, what they do with that power once they have it, and how you feel about having power yourself. Within that context you will see alliances shifting, new doors opening while others are closing behind you. All the while your hopes and wishes for the future are also shifting. Or rather, they are being realigned with the new phase that is about to unfold, and the role that you are going to be playing in it.

Cancer

Welcome to eclipse season once again. This season comes with a bit of a twist. For the New Moon Solar Eclipse on April 19th/20th is as much about letting go as it is about stepping over a threshold into the next stage of your life. This can involve a certain amount of forgiveness. Forgiveness for others as well as for yourself. And acceptance. Accepting people for who they are and where they are, without expecting them to be something else. This means releasing anger, releasing any old feelings of betrayal, and letting them fade into the ether. A new day is dawning and the Solar Eclipse next week is something of a turning point in our lives, allowing that new day to take hold. The Solar Eclipse, as was the New Moon on March 21st, is in the sign of Aries, a sign invested with energy, enthusiasm and courage. In the years in which the eclipses fall in Aries and Libra it would not be unusual to see your goals shifting and your status evolving. And just as the New Moon in March was asking you to begin anew, the Eclipse is doubling down on the idea of creating a plan for the future, reinventing your brand, and investing all you do with new-found energy and enthusiasm.

Leo

Many a Leo has already been exploring their own relationship to power, including those things they do have power over, and those they simply do not. Curiously it is when you are more willing to let go of the need to be in control, that you will begin to get your power back again. The New Moon Eclipse on April 19th/20th is a turning point in all of our lives. Because it is not just about our own personal transitions, but the gradual and evolutionary transitions in society of which we are all a part. These too will carry us aloft. And the more we try to resist those changes the more difficult it will be. But if you are able to ride the wave from one phase to the next, the transition will be all the easier. It does require a willingness to let go of the familiar shore in order for that to occur. But once you do, all sorts of new worlds and possibilities await. The New Moon on March 21st was trying to re-instill your faith in the future. The New Moon Eclipse this week is doing the same. It may not be exactly like you might have thought it would be, but it is a reminder of hope and possibility. And that tomorrow is another day.

Virgo

With the New Moon Eclipse on April 19th/20th, we stand on the threshold between the past and the future. And at that threshold there could be those things that are about to part. They are ready to go. And it makes no sense to hold on to that which has already ended. But out of the remnants and ashes of the past a whole new world with new opportunities can emerge. Like the phoenix diving into the fire, through this process of purification a whole new life can emerge finally leaving the vestiges of what once was behind us. The New Moon in Aries on March 21st was Virgo as the truth teller. But the New Moon Eclipse in Aries next week is the Truth Seer, allowing you to see through all pretense and guile. It takes a certain amount of humility and courage to be able to stare the truth in the eye and see it for what it is. And just like the New Moon in Aries, the Eclipse is asking you to shine a light in the darkness by being willing to confront those hard truths with utter honesty. Take back your power with humility and grace, in only the way that Virgo does. Then use that power in service to others who don’t have any power of their own. That is the path of Virgo. It is also the path of seeing.

Libra

When the eclipses fall in Aries/Libra as the Eclipse on April 19th/20th is, it can often feel as if the fates are conniving and collaborating from behind the scenes to bring some people together and separate others. Like strategic and mystical matchmakers they collude to orchestrate the best sorts of alliances that will most further our progress and growth. And having the best allies, partners, teachers, clients, guides on your side can make all the difference. But in order to facilitate that process, you are first going to need to clear the slate, and leave some old emotional baggage behind. Forgiveness for the past, for others, for yourself. Acceptance that you did your very best, and that others probably thought they did so as well. And acceptance for the situation for what it was, and is and shall be. Carrying old wounds, old regrets, blame, shame and dialogues into the future, is merely self-defeating.  It is time to walk into the next phase of your life with a much lighter load, leaving all that heavy weight behind you.

Scorpio

What are you needing to let go of in order to achieve greater emotional and psychological well-being? What old tropes, dialogues and obsessions are needing to be laid to rest once and for all? At some point you have to log out of the search engine, and just accept that there are some things which are unknowable, or that simply cannot be understood. And sometimes it’s just better off that way. You are going to be needing some of that intense mental focus for much more important things in your life over the next few years. Especially in any areas that support your daily routines, your work, and your general health and well being. That may mean having to change up some habits and routines, or to tie up some loose ends and obligations from the past. But it will be worth it in the end. The Eclipse on April 19th/20th is the 2nd New Moon in Aries this year, and a turning point at that! There’s no getting around it this time. Look for something that motivates you, that feels challenging, and will make you feel renewed, revitalized and recharged.

Sagittarius

Eclipses, such as the one we will be having on April 19th/20th, can open the way for our own evolutionary growth. But sometimes, in order to facilitate that process we will need to let go of the previous shore, and all of its various entanglements. Being able to do so will allow you to live a freer, less complicated and less encumbered life. A life that promises a fuller and more authentic expression of yourself. In the process you will find yourself sifting through and reorganizing the various priorities of your life. Sagittarius has been doing a lot of work on their own self-esteem and self-worth, and you won’t want to lose any of that which you have accumulated over the course of your life. But what you will want to let go of are any perceived regrets, rejections and/or failures, or any doubts that may have cropped up in the process. The next few years will be about focusing on creating your own best life in a way that motivates, inspires and energizes you to be even better and do even more of the things that make you feel larger than life. And any purification you can do to facilitate that process will help to clear the way.

Capricorn

The Solar Eclipse on April 19th/20th is just the first of the eclipses falling in Aries or Libra over the next few years, which promise new beginnings concerning home, family and community. This will be about promoting greater safety, security and a stronger sense of place and belonging. But in order to facilitate that process you are being asked to let go of some previous old narratives and tropes about your own self-identity that still might be fermenting on the back burner of your life. This is where you are being asked to unload any regrets about the past, or any doubts about yourself, who you are, and what you see yourself accomplishing over the years ahead. Many a Capricorn has been doing a lot of work redefining themselves and their lives over the past 15 years. And having the right community within which to further support and cultivate that new life, can make all the difference going forward. The eclipse is both a turning point and a reminder of the importance of a well established community and roots.

Aquarius

Aquarius is about to embark on a voyage of self-discovery and growth over the next few decades. You have already been doing a great deal of inner work over the years. And more recently you have also been doing this work in service to turning over a new leaf. Almost preparing yourself for this whole new phase of life that is about to emerge. We are still in a transition point between the life that was and the life that will be. And the Eclipse on April 19th/20th is something of a turning point towards helping you to realize what that new life will look like. In order to facilitate that process you are being asked to leave a lot of old narratives, habits and beliefs of yourself behind. Beliefs that are no longer valid for the person you are becoming. The Solar Eclipse is also a New Moon, and much like the New Moon on the Equinox, the Eclipse is trying to bring you a whole new way of thinking. This can come through a new idea that flashes into your mind, a way of looking at the world, a fresh new perspective! It might have been there all along and you just didn’t see it. But once you do, your world will never be quite the same again.

Pisces

Solar Eclipses occur at the New Moon. And New Moons are about new beginnings. Eclipses, like the one on April 19th/20th add another dimension to this in that the new beginnings that are being facilitated within the ambit of the Eclipse can even be seen as important turning points in our lives. Like crossing a threshold into another phase of life. Within that context, Pisces is being asked to reevaluate their own self-worth. Not so much in the eyes of others, although that would be nice too, but in your own eyes. This is about you proving yourself to yourself, and seeing yourself, what you do, what you have to offer, as worthy. This may require you to let some other things go, that may be sending the wrong message to yourself. And that can include this idea that some how you don’t quite fit in. That you are a square peg in a round hole. And yet it is precisely because of this that you do fit in so well! And that you are indeed, worthy.
