Between the Eclipses

December 4th ~ 11th

Reality is that which, even when you don’t believe in it, doesn’t go away. ~ Peter Viereck

We are  now in the void between the Lunar and Solar Eclipses. Things fade. Other things are trying to unfold. What that exactly is, is still somewhat uncertain for now. Eclipses are so unpredictable. All the more so when we are under a Neptunian fugue. Therefore all we can do is proceed on faith that everything will turn out as it should. And this is without knowing where we will find ourselves once all the dust has settled and the air has finally cleared.

Eclipses can be felt weeks in advance, especially if it is in a personal degree; and months after. The ramifications can be felt for years after, as these can often stand as turning points in our lives. Some may feel like they are overwhelmed with activity and too much information, adding to an otherwise worrisome feeling of uncertainty. Others will feel like they are being drained of their life essence. This is the veil between the eclipses where change, evolution and time warps converge, and all we can do is walk through the veil to the other side.

These eclipses occur in the signs of Gemini and Sagittarius, the signs of the current Nodal axis of the Moon. This is where the paths of the Moon and the Sun intersect, allowing for this exact alignment of the Sun, Moon and the Earth. The North ascending Node is in the sign of Gemini, while the South descending Node is in the sign of Sagittarius. The South Node represents that which we are needing to release in order to allow for further evolutionary growth. The North Node shows us what we are needing to cultivate. To further complicate and muddy the waters, the diluvial Lord Neptune is square the Nodes through February. Like a digression, a distraction, a diversion… Neptune can lead us all astray.

Neptune’s sleight of hand with reality keeps shuffling the deck. That which we may have previously assumed to be true, may be coming apart at the seams. Neptune at its best can bring bliss and transcendence. But it can also bring despair, hopelessness, confusion, escapism and despair. The best way to handle Neptune is to embrace him without drowning in him. To experience him without trying to understand or define him. Therefore do immerse yourself in the world of Neptune this week. Allow yourself to dream, and even fantasize, but only while also keeping your feet firmly planted on the ground.

Experience Neptune in your life through music, film, poetry, art.. anything that inspires your heart and soul. Find Neptune in visions and dreams, through meditation and prayer. Know Neptune through volunteerism, acts of compassion, and living your ideals and aspirations. The more we aspire to Neptune’s higher realms, the less likely we are to be sucked into his vortex of confusion, deception, delusion, helplessness, victimization, escapism, intoxication and despair.

Release the deceptive foes. Cut through delusion, lies and propaganda with the sharp sword of discrimination. Speak from the heart, but speak only truths. Make sure you are fully informed before jumping to conclusions. What this week is good for:

  • Getting lost in your imagination: Draw, paint, play music, sing, dance, write poetry, watch a good movie, read a good book, and dream.

  • Practices that help to align you with your spiritual center: Meditate, Pray, Chant, read spiritual texts. Take long walks in nature, near water, or seek solace in sacred spaces. Forgive.

  • Connect with yourself: Reflect, journal, lay out the cards, read the I Ching, dig out the pendulum & oracles

  • Activities that do so: Perform acts of compassion and random acts of kindness, a kind word, stop to listen, be present for others. Volunteer your time or your resources for a good cause.

  • Slowing down: Pay attention, See, Hear, Feel, Be present in order to honor and fully appreciate each moment.
