The Solar Eclipse in Taurus April 30, 2022
April 29th ~ May 6th
The first fact of existence is the law of change or impermanence. All that exists, from a mole to a mountain, from a thought to an empire, passes through the same cycle of existence, that is birth, growth, decay and death. Life alone is continuous, ever seeking self-expression in new forms. Life is Bridge; therefore build no house on it. ~ Christmas Humphries
The Solar Eclipse at 10º Taurus 35’ Saturday, Apr 30th 4:41 pm EDT
Taurus season lures us into a state of beguiled contentment with its soft breezes, and verdant gardens filled with promise. We have illusions of putting up our feet and relaxing into the decadence of our own desires, watching the grass grow, and feeding our senses. And this could almost be true, if it were not for Uranus, the lord of chaos, rumbling through the thickets and ploughing up the newly sprouting strawberries. Throw in a few eclipses and a retrograde Mercury on May 10th, and there’s no telling where this will all land by the time we crawl into Gemini later in May.
Eclipses are known for their unpredictability. And the partial Solar Eclipse conjunct Uranus may be even more so. Taurus is a sign where we usually want things to be settled, safe and secure. Where we can contentedly put our feet up. But since Uranus has been in Taurus for the past 4 years, it has taken a number of liberties, moving things around without asking permission, and leaving us all wondering where everything is. Beneath the chaos and the changes in our lives, beyond the incessant unpredictability, there was something else going on. Uranus can be revelatory. It lifts us out of our own self-imposed lethargy, our accustomed ways of doing things, and forces us to see things from a whole new perspective.
Uranus shows us that we don’t have to keep doing things the way we always have in the past, or the way everyone else expects us to. Uranus shows us that we have choices. And that if we really really want peace and tranquility and lazy afternoons filled with soft breezes and decadent self-indulgences.. are you willing to adapt and make whatever changes that are necessary in order to make that possible? Uranus has been trying to open us up to possibilities that you might not have considered previously. And any changes that are initiated at this time can help to free you up for better things.
Embrace the changes that have been made, the changes that are occurring, and those that you might want to see yourself making in the future.
Venus, exalted and glamorous in the sign of Pisces is exactly conjunct beneficent Jupiter on the day of the Eclipse. This is the story behind the eclipse. As the most elegant and exalted ruler of Taurus, she is Queen for the day, carrying the light from beneficent Jupiter to Pluto, filled with the promise of better things to come. Jupiter and Pluto make an exact sextile aspect on May 3rd, just days after the Solar Eclipse.
There can be something grandiose about this combination. And considering the recent purchase of the Twitterverse, you might want to make sure that you also are not taking on way more than you bargained for. The North Node in Taurus is the remedy and the solution, therefore with this series of eclipses we are reminded not to make things more complicated, but to make things simpler and more manageable.
And with Jupiter sextile Pluto hovering in the background, we are being asked to consider: What would serve the greater good? And how can I make the best use of my talents and my resources, for the greatest advantage? Jupiter sextile Pluto is asking us to create goals that will allow us to fulfill a larger vision, but not without taking into consideration our most important priorities and needs.
