We are now approaching the Summer Solstice (Winter in the Southern Hemisphere), one of the important magical corners of the Solar Year. It is a time of power and initiation but it is also a time of family, home and culture. We also enter into the retrograde phase of Neptune, which stations on June 18th. We may not be able to see it, but there will be a super New Moon in Gemini next week. And although we may not be able to see this moon, its effects on the tides of the seas, the earth, and the affairs of humanity will be felt that much more. We asked last week: “What does it mean to live a more meaningful life?” This is a question that we can only answer for ourselves. But it is definitely worth thinking about. And especially so now that the sublime Jupiter/Neptune trine is exact, and we find ourselves in the ambit of the Full Moon on May 29th. 

This week we are moving from the volatile Mars/Uranus square to a more sublime and visionary Jupiter/Neptune trine. This is a welcome transition. And in this weather, we are being asked to consider: What would does it mean to live a more meaningful life? and, Where does your true path lie?

This is probably one of the most exciting weeks of the year, as Uranus moves into the sign of Taurus accompanied by an explosive and incendiary square to Mars. The volcanic eruptions on the Big Island of Hawaii are just a preview, and only one of the many radical possibilities that this shift can bring. This period can be erratic and uncertain, but it can also bring us the courage to implement changes that are long overdue. 

On May 15th, Uranus will return to the sign of Taurus for the first time in 84 years. For the 7 years that it is in the sign of Taurus it shakes up society on some of its most fundamental levels: its politics, its economy, and those things that sustain our lives. When Uranus first enters Taurus in May, it will do so with a bang: with an exact square to Mars just entering the Uranian sign of Aquarius. Mars/Uranus weather is unpredictable, explosive and combustible. And this will only be the 1st of 3 Mars/Uranus squares before the Summer ends. Uranus is pretty much in your face any way, and really doesn’t need any explosive entrances. Yet, astrologers sit here with bated breath waiting to see what will unfold: a sudden crisis in the economy? a long overdue shift in the tectonic plates? a radical and revolutionary insurrection? something blows up?
