For the week of January 4th thru the 11th, be sure to read your Rising Sign as well:
Aries
Mars is now in your sign and stirring things up. One thing Mars brings when in Aries is the courage to shake things up a bit. Just watch for impatience, or a tendency towards over-enthusiasm, which could make people a little nervous. Avoid going over the speed limit, and remember to put on the brakes when necessary. You don’t want to burn yourself out coming out of the gate. This New Moon Eclipse is very much about pacing ourselves, using discipline and skill and patience. It may feel a little constraining, but creating some sort of plan, and following it, is a really good idea right now. It could indeed feel as if some sort of destiny is about to unfold. But there is no sense in rushing things before their time. Now that Uranus is stationing direct again, it is time to honor the changes that you have established in your life over the past 7 years, including honoring your own unique path, even if it may diverge from what is expected of you. It is yours.
Taurus
Your ruling planet, Venus, moves into optimistic Sagittarius on Monday, daring you to aspire to ever higher hopes for the future. Along with the Solar Eclipse on Saturday, it is time to think in terms of what steps you may want to take to further expand your horizons, gain greater experience, or get yourself onto the path that you feel most compelled to follow. Look for ways to devote yourself towards creating a more humane and meaningful lifestyle, through teaching, learning, sharing, or incorporating some of your ideals into your daily life. In some way it is possible for your whole perspective to change as a result of something you learn. Now that Uranus is stationing and turning direct again, the promise of a bright new future is unfolding. A better world is waiting. It’s time to think about what sort of role you are going to be playing in it.
Gemini
There is something uniquely life-affirming about this Solar Eclipse, as both endings and beginnings are intertwined. And due to these, a sense of destiny and inevitability seems to unfold. Perhaps you have come to the point where you realize that enough is enough and it’s time to make a whole new resolution about the direction that your life is taking. As Mercury moves into the sign of Capricorn this week, it brings a seriousness of purpose, but it also initially brings a little agitation, and maybe a little conflict. If that is the case try to refrain from saying things out of anger, or impulsively. Use the surge of courage to say what you need to say, just try to avoid saying anything that may prove to be regrettable later on. A certain amount of reserve will pay off. And although this week could feel a little hectic; ultimately Mercury being in Capricorn is really good for organizing schedules and gives a little extra focus and concentration. Combined with the Solar Eclipse on Saturday, anything to do with stabilizing infrastructures, or planning for the future will be benefitted.
Cancer
Saturday brings us a partial Solar Eclipse in the sign of Capricorn. Due to a lovely sextile to Neptune, your compassionate heart is kindled in the light of this Moon. You may even be inspired to help, or put your own needs aside for what you see to be a higher cause. It is also a time in which your focus goes out into the world, as you reevaluate your friendships, allies, partners, your audience, as well as your marketplace. And in so doing reflect: What are the things I value most in my partners, friends, clients and customers? What would I like to see more of? And what can I do to cultivate new and better relationships and partnerships; and/or make my current relationships more dependable? One thing that may become evident this week, is how much your life and destiny is so intertwined with others. This Eclipse is about discovering a new direction through others, that paves the way for renewal. One door may be closing, but another is opening.
Leo
Things you might want to focus on with this eclipse are: creating a more sustainable and healthful routine; organizing your environment, schedule or work place; revamping your diet; addressing a specific health concern; or ways that you might improve your work habits or relationships with co-workers. This New Moon eclipse is especially effective for beginning any kind of health program, diet or exercise regimen. Try to choose just one of these to focus on. You will find that the rest will follow. And don’t overwhelm yourself with too many expectations. The Eclipse is in Capricorn which is a sign of discipline and determination. If you want to change a habit, rather than thinking of ‘not’ doing something, think of replacing it with a more positive habit. This is a purifying Moon, that aims to rehabilitate, cleanse, and clean out old toxins, and anything else that may be slowing you down or limiting you in any way.
Virgo
Eclipses are notorious for bringing about both endings and new beginnings, and this one may have you spinning like a top trying to keep up with sudden twists and turns. One thing that Virgo may want to hold on to over the next few weeks, is this idea about having something to believe in and strive for, whether that be a goal, a lodestar or a higher power. Something you might want to focus on with this Eclipse is finding your own style, and connecting with those people and things that get who you are. There is something incredibly karmic about this Eclipse, as it seems to invest us with a sense of destiny, and creative power. You even have the capacity to transform yourself and unload any old unnecessary emotional baggage that you’ve been carrying around; through your own unique creative power. There is probably much hard work over the months ahead, but hard work that can ultimately be quite rewarding and empowering at the same time.
Libra
If you wanted to measure health and well-being in body and mind, perhaps the best measure would be the level of peace and equanimity. Venus leaves the labyrinthine depths of Scorpio and enters optimistic Sagittarius on Monday, leaning towards inspiration and hope. In some way, all of this, an opening of heart and mind, a touch of awe, and respect for traditions, the past, are all impacting on what goals or intentions you may wish to set for the year ahead. And although this week is a bit fraught with conflict and activity that threatens to destabilize your much desired peace and equanimity; things that you might want to strive for are things like a more safe, stable and reliable environment. The truth is the greatest changes begin on a deeper, more emotional level. The more internal stabilization and security you can establish, the better able you will be in handling whatever challenges life may toss at you.
Scorpio
Mars is agitating and stirring up trouble this week. As he will. It might be wise to watch what you say and how you say it, in order to avoid any regrettable conflicts. Even so, there is a ton of energy here to get things done, and challenge yourself towards goals of self-improvement. Some things you might want to pay attention to with the Solar Eclipse, is precisely the way you say things and communicate with others. Communications skills are key for the year ahead, as are things like time management and organization. Do you shut people out? Do you need to work on perfecting your communications skills, such as listening and speaking clearly and comprehensively? Eclipses can be a little edgy, and this New Moon Eclipse could literally blow your mind with self-realizations. Do not fear the truths that are being revealed, for even as things are being revealed, you now have the power to do something about them.
Sagittarius
Amidst all the hopes and wishes for the future, the one thing that will ensure a successful outcome is making sure that you keep your feet steadfastly and firmly planted on the ground. This may be hard to do at times, for it could even feel as if you are flying right out into space. Your world is about to open up that much. With the New Moon Solar Eclipse, in some way, you are being asked to reinvest in yourself, and in your future. This may merely mean realizing your own self-worth, self-respect and figuring out ways to be more self-sufficient. This might mean having to get by on fewer resources, but it can also be about recognizing what are those things in your life that are worth making certain sacrifices for in order for you to create more security and structure. This is all the more important in these uncertain times. All the more reason to focus on those things, people and circumstances that bring you a sense of worth, and a feeling of stability. Keep those feet grounded.
Capricorn
On Saturday there is a partial Solar Eclipse New Moon in Capricorn. The Capricorns most affected by this eclipse are those born between January 2nd and the 8th, or who have 13-19º of Capricorn Rising. This is also just a powerful New Moon because it highlights many of the prevailing transits of the upcoming year. Many a Capricorn has been busy rebirthing and reinventing yourselves. You might ask yourself: If not now, then when? What sorts of changes are well overdue in your life, that you would like to see implemented this year? Think in terms of self-improvement and reinvention. What does it mean for you to be a person worthy of respect? Not only respect from others, but from yourself. Especially yourself. Things you might want to pay attention to with this Eclipse: having more control over your own life and destiny; connecting with and developing a stronger sense of personal identity; a renewed sense of self-awareness; and conveying just the right sort of image.
Aquarius
In order to make a new beginning in the future, some things of necessity, will have to come to an end. Like a snake sloughing off its old skin, or a hermit crab leaving its too-small shell, it is time to move on. Eclipses are known for being associated with endings and beginnings. This particular Eclipse is accompanied by a station of Uranus, the planet of unpredictability, and sometimes even radical changes. It definitely feels as if a new order is rising. There is a reminder with this Eclipse that you don’t have to keep on doing things the way you have in the past. That there are alternatives. And perhaps there may be at least one alternative path that just may be the one you’ve been seeking all along. Things you might want to focus on with the New Moon Solar Eclipse: addressing the past without fear or loathing, in order to achieve some sort of inner healing; learning to embrace your past, all of it, the good, the bad, and the ugly; and the ways and means to allow heavy baggage to slip easily off your shoulders, so that you can then move forward unencumbered.
Pisces
You have reached a certain level of accomplishment in your life up to this point. The question now is, where are you going to go from here? If you have a choice, seek the path that will bring the greatest meaning: whether that means pursuing a more altruistic, more artistic, more compassionate path; may it be the path that was meant for you. Things you might want to work on with this New Moon Eclipse: having a well-navigated sense of direction; and setting realistic and achievable aspirations. What steps might you be able to take to bring you close to realizing your dreams? Make your New Moon, New Year Resolutions simple, make them clear, and focus specifically on those long-term goals that are most meaningful to you. This is your wishing Moon, and it is powerful. Therefore think in terms of being able to realistically achieve those hopes and wishes, by attracting the tools and resources that will allow that to happen.
