March 15th ~ 22nd
Like the Taoist sages of ancient China, Jesus likes to draw our attention to nature because he sees a power at work in it that humans have lost touch with. It is the creative power of the universe… that while nature is a beautiful expression of the evolutionary impulse of the universe, when humans become aligned with the intelligence that underlies it, they will express that same impulse on a higher, more wondrous level. ~ Eckhart Tolle (A New Earth)
Until April 1st all the planets are moving direct. And that forward momentum continues to allow us to move full steam ahead with whatever it is that we are aiming to seed, create, or build. This has been true since the direct station of Uranus on January 27th. We still have a few weeks of that forward momentum. And never will it feel quite so charged as it will at the Aries Equinox. Celebrated as the Persian New Year, this is also the birthday of the Tropical Astrological Year, when the Sun enters the first degree of the first sign of the Zodiac.
The Sun’s Ingress into Aries falls on either the 19th or the 20th this year, depending on where you are in the world. Here in the Americas we get the Equinox, and the first day of Spring (or Autumn in the southern hemisphere) a bit early because of the extra Leap Year day on February 29th. And because the Equinox occurs at 0º of Aries, the first degree of the first sign of the Zodiac, the Ingress chart for the northern Vernal Equinox also sets the tone for the year ahead.
And when we move into Aries season, you can almost feel the stirring of the movement in the earth, knowing that something is emerging, growing, quickening. You may not know when, and where and how, but you know we are on our way. Aries is about New Beginnings and that vital energy that motivates us, and gets us going. This is the bird hatching out of the egg, the new buds on the trees in Spring. There is nothing quite like this fresh Aries energy for starting things, and getting us motivated.
The Equinoxes and the Solstices are the 4 Cardinal corners of the Solar Year. Each for these represent the Sun’s ingress into each of the Cardinal signs, beginning with Aries at the (northern) Vernal Equinox, Cancer at the Summer Solstice, Libra at the Autumnal Equinox and Capricorn at the Winter Solstice. This Cardinal Cross represents the Earth’s axis, and whenever a planet enters any of these Cardinal signs, it can bring a sense of newness and initiative in those things symbolized by the particular planet. This is what is going to happen in 2025 when Neptune, and then Saturn, enter the sign of Aries.
When looking at the Ingress chart for the Sun’s Aries Equinox, we are already getting a sense of things to come for the Neptune Ingress into Aries. At 27º of Pisces, Neptune is just a few degrees away from the Aries Ingress. Neptune will not dip its toes into the fiery realm of Aries until March 30, 2025, but it’s already planting seeds in the last critical degrees of Pisces. The last time Neptune entered Aries was in 1862. Seeded by the Transcendentalist Movement in the previous Neptune in Pisces era, this was when we were being asked to put our Idealistic Beliefs into action. This is also when they are most likely to be challenged.
It is easy to fall into complacency with Neptune in the last degrees of Pisces. We see what we want to see, and disregard the rest. We want to hold to our dreams as well as our fantasies. But it is precisely in these last degrees that we would want to gather all that we have been releasing, learning, seeing, hearing, feeling, experiencing the past 13 years that Neptune has been in Pisces. For it will be the very essence of that Neptune in Pisces experience that we are taking with us into the next Neptune cycle that begins in 2025.
What are your most cherished ideals that you would want to uphold?
What are those things, people and experiences that have proven to be most meaningful in the end?
What disenchantments and disillusionments over the past 13 years have led you back on to your true spiritual path?
And when your back is against the wall, what will be those things that you would be willing to stand for in the end? What are your things that truly matter?
In the mean time, let’s take advantage of Pluto’s recent ingress into Aquarius to rebuild, reinvent and revamp our world, so that it will be more in alignment with our highest and most cherished ideals. This is about practicing what we preach. To actually walk the walk as well as talk the talk. 2025 will be when the rubber meets the road. But for now we are coming to terms with what really, really matters in the end. Not just in theory, but in practice.
The significant fact is that all the really great changes have come from the inside out. They are born of the inner nature of the organism itself. They must have lain there, inherent as a possibility, more as an irrepressible necessity in the first Adamite organism, just as a tall pine is potential in a soft pinyon seed no larger than a child’s tooth. ~ Donald C. Peattie (the Flowering Earth)
