Saturn stations and Pluto squares Eris

Following the station of Pluto at the New Moon on October 6th, Pluto perfects its square to the dwarf planet Eris this week. This is the last of 5 exact squares between the goddess of chaos, and the dark lord of destruction, this year and last. It would certainly seem that we should all rejoice that we’re going to eventually see the back end of this tumultuous and divisive square. But also this week, is the direct station of Saturn, trying to restore order in our lives once again.

The New Moon in Libra and Pluto stations

The New Moon in Libra (13º 25’) on October 6th is so very closely conjunct conflicted Mars (13º 59’) while opposing Chiron in the martian sign of Aries, exposing our wounds, our regrets, our passions. In Libra, we are in the mood for harmony and fairness. But we seem to be wistfully hoping for these in what appears to be a contentious and wounded environment. The 1st Quarter Moon and Neptune

Confronting illusive Neptune from the well-tended and scrupulously organized field of Virgo is like trying to make sense of the insensible or attempting to organize chaos. Like capturing a breeze in a jar, bailing out a dinghy with a teaspoon in the middle of a hurricane, or daring to define God, we are, quite simply, out of our depth. And as the Sun comes to perfect its opposition to Neptune this week at the first quarter Moon (at 21º Sagittarius - on Monday, September 13th), we may even feel a little overwhelmed.

The New Moon in Virgo 2021

We are creatures of habit and familiarity, and so we have a tendency to do things the same way over and over again. But when Uranus comes along, as it is with the New Moon in Virgo on September 6th/7th, we are more inclined to venture into unfamiliar territory. And if we are willing to do so even just a little bit, Uranus can reward us with a whole new perspective and outlook.

The Last Quarter Moon

Don’t be discouraged if you feel overwhelmed or disenchanted this week. Mars in opposition to Neptune will leave many feeling disillusioned and out of their depth. The Last Quarter Moon on the 29th/30th is asking us to slow down in preparation for the next cycle. Do so while paying attention to your boundaries and your limits. Trying to go beyond those will only leave you exhausted and spent. It is a time for quiet reflection and thoughtful reverie, not madcap hijinks and maneuvers.

A Second Full Moon in Aquarius

The Full Moon in Aquarius this weekend is not only our second Full Moon in Aquarius this year, but also a seasonal Blue Moon. A rare 4th Full Moon which snuck in this season. But perhaps the most significant thing about this Full Moon is that it is closely conjunct retrograde Jupiter, which only returned to Aquarius at the end of July.

Uranus station Retrograde

This coming week Uranus will station for its retrograde phase. Planets often make their presence felt when they station in a particular degree. And with Uranus in Taurus it could literally feel as if the very earth is shaking beneath our feet. However, these retrograde phases of Uranus are a very important time of the year in which we are processing and making sense of the changes in our lives. Including those that have already been made, those that are occurring now, and those we might be planning or anticipating in the future.
