We are in the throes of Eclipse Season, with the Solar Eclipse on Saturday, April 30th at 10º Taurus, conjunct Uranus, the agent of sudden (and sometimes inexplicable) change. But with an underlying theme of great fortune as Venus and Jupiter will make an exact conjunction the same day.

We are approaching Eclipse Season which begins with the Solar Eclipse on April 30th. But even before then we’ve been navigating the station of Pluto which was square (at cross quarters with) the recent Full Moon.

Our deepest Wounds are laid bare with this Moon, so that they can no longer be denied. Libra is a sign of relating and peace. It is a sign of detente. But the Full Moon is also shining a light on Eris and the Aries Sun in full battle gear. The Libra Full Moon in this guise can therefore also be about open warfare and confrontation. All the more so with Pluto caught in the cross hairs of the full Moon.

It takes only a few individuals to create a center of attraction. Therefore under the aegis of the Jupiter/Neptune conjunction on April 12th, make it a point to be a center for incalculable good, profound idealism, humanitarian ethics, socially just kindness, and conscientious compassion. When we come to realize that we are not alone, and that we are all here struggling together in this great cosmic ocean we call life, we can accomplish so much more than we ever could on our own.

Falling in the wee hours of the day here in New York City, the New Moon in Aries takes place on April 1st at 2:25 AM; that’s 7:25 AM in Universal Greenwich Time, and 11:25 PM on March 31st in Pacific Time. It is closely conjunct Chiron and Mercury this year, adding another story to this Moon of New Beginnings.

Saturn is coming to the bending of the Nodes, and this week Venus comes to join Saturn. Next week this will be followed by Mars. This can feel like we are standing between two worlds: between the past and the future, between the old and the new. But even as we do so, we are also standing here in the dark of the moon, holding on to these ephemeral sparks of hope. We are on our way.

From the futility of despair to the heights of compassion and Oneness, the Sun is conjunct Neptune this week, reminding us of the ultimate reality of our universal interdependence. No matter how much we may try to convince ourselves otherwise, we are all swimming in this great Ocean of Life together, and this can not and will not be denied.

Venus and Mars make another conjunction immediately after simultaneously entering the sign of Aquarius this weekend. This was the exact degree of the Great Conjunction in December of 2020. This is also when Venus is finally picking up speed and emerging out of her shadow period. The Mayans saw in Venus as a morning star, a god of war. But in Western Astrology we see her as an arbiter of peace. May cooler minds and hearts prevail under the guidance of our morning star.

Nimue was ambitious, and she took advantage of Merlin’s infatuation, in order to learn the secrets of his magic. In this painting she has used one of his spells to put Merlin into a deep sleep. As he succumbs, she feels both giddiness and surprise at the power she has at her disposal. The Venus/Mars/Pluto conjunction is both beguiling and terribly dangerous. And all this falls within the ambit of the New Moon in Pisces on Wednesday. A Moon of vast potential.
